Morning Drop Off


Morning Drop Off/Student Safety
 I have  arrived at  school  at 6:50 and saw students standing at the front entrance in the cold and unsupervised. A Safe and Orderly environment must be in place at Anderson.  Clayton County states that the Drop Off time is 7:15. Please work with us in ensuring your child is safe. I am asking parents or caretakers, not to let students out of the care until 7:15am with the presence of an adult who will assist students with getting out of the car.  Thanks for working with me to ensure our students are safe.  I cannot stress the point enough that student safety is paramount.  It is imperative that all drivers drive slowly and cautiously upon entering the parking lot.  Also, we use one lane in the AM drop off which is the far right lane.  Please do not create double lanes as this could possibly cause an accident.  I expect that every parent has some place important to be, however, please think of how devastated you would be if you hit someone in our parking lot. For the benefit of everyone please be mindful of the following:

  • No student should be dropped off from the parking lot.
  • The crosswalk must be used at all times if it becomes necessary for students to be escorted inside the building.
  • Students are not to be dropped off before 7:15 am.  Clayton County start time is 7:15

Increase Student Safety our front doors are now locked after 7:45 am.  To enter the building, you have to be buzzed in.  We apologize for any inconvenience for any wait time but this is a level of protection for our students that must be in place.

Review CCPS Parent-Student Handbook and sign/return pgs. 2-6 if you are new or perhaps you forgot to sign and send in the page. Return any forms sent from your child’s teacher or the main office, log into Infinite Campus regularly and ensure that your child’s homework is completed nightly and to be aware of grades.

Technology
We need your help. With the availability of laptops, iPads and other forms of technology, it is not necessary for students to bring technology to school.  In light of having the technology, we need for all electronic devices to be turned off and put away.  The students’ instructional time must be protected. 

Communication Protocol

In the event that an issue or a concern arises, your first line of communication should be with your child’s teacher. In most cases a parent-teacher conference can resolve issues more rapidly.  If perhaps the issue or concern does not resolve itself, you are encourage to schedule a meeting with the assistant principal. If the issue or concern persists after following the steps outlined above, then a meeting with the principal should be scheduled.

Please stop by our Parent Resource center located in the media center and speak to our Parent Liaison, Mrs. Love about resources she has that could support your child.

Anderson Elementary Instructional Day

Daily school attendance is very important.
Every student, Every day, Every Seat!

Instructional day begins: 7:45AM
Instructional day ends: 2:15PM

Please ensure students arrive to school on time and are dressed in the school uniform. Our school uniform colors are:
Tops: White, Blue, and Gold solid color, collared tops
Bottoms (shorts, pants, skirts, jumpers): Navy, Khaki, and Black.
Shoes: Closed-toe shoes are highly recommended for safety reasons.

Reminder: Please read, sign, and return all Back to School documents promptly.

** Our school wide communication tool, The Pirate Courier, is sent home each Thursday. Please review, sign and return each Friday.
